While prices for steel and concrete have gone up in recent years, the cost of timber has remained remarkably stable. And besides being highly competitive on an initial-cost basis, treated wood excels in its life-cycle cost.

We pressure-treat a variety of dimensional wood products, using primarily spruce, pine, and fir. Our Penta process means minimal maintenance is needed, and painting is never required. Unlike steel, of course, wood doesn’t rust.

We supply bridge timbers to government agencies and private contractors throughout Western Canada. Vermette Wood Preservers is the exclusive supplier of bridge timbers and bridge piling to Saskatchewan Highways and Infrastructure. We also custom treat dimensional lumber and crossarms for utilities in North America; and provide pipeline blocking/sleepers to the oil and gas industry.
